On my report, what is an “Average Home”? Whose home qualifies as an “Efficient Home”? Are these real people and homes?

Yes, the Average Home and Efficient Home categories on your report show the usage (averaged) of real homes. 

To determine who is included in each category, we rank the energy efficiency of all of the homes that are similar to yours. Average Home represents the ones in the middle of the pack, who fall at the 50% mark in the efficiency ranking. Efficient Home represents homes that are in the top 25% most energy efficient, which means that 25% of the homes in your comparison consume, on average, the kWh amount given for Efficient Home. 

Other homes’ energy usage is presented only as an average. You will never see another individual home’s energy usage information, nor will they see yours.
